Need help deciding on which Sig P226 to get. Help!

As the title says I'm purchasing a Sig P226 and a conversation kit to practice with cheap ammo and would like your feedback on the following. Before the Glock guys jump in...I already have a Glock 17 and love it but there's nothing wrong with owning a Glock and a Sig right? :)

My dilemma is the following:

Purchase a P226 Classic .22 then purchase the 9mm conversion kit

Pro: I save about $300'ish this way.
Con: No SIGLITE night sights on the .22 slide and not sure if they come with the 9mm conversion slide.

or

Purchase a P226 9mm BSS then purchase the .22LR conversion kit.

Pro: SIGLITE night sights included on the 9mm slide.
Con: Costs about $300'ish more than the previous idea.

Any thoughts, comments, suggestions?
 
What's the cost of the Sig night sights on their own? If you save money by purchasing the 9mm upper, and the Sig classic .22, why not just use the 300$ in savings towards a pair of night sights and save the extra dough?

Cost from Questar (where i'll be buying the Sig from as well) for the night sights is $132.66.

I've never worked on a Sig before so is the sight replacement an easy to do procedure?
 
You can never have just one Sig anyway, trust me....I'm at 4 and counting, and can't seem to stay away from tempation.

I'd say get the P226 in 9mm with the sights you want to start, save for the conversion (or spend the money on a Mosquito instead, and the Mosquito haters will chime in here but I love mine and have had few problems with it now that we agree on ammunition).....

And then get a P220, because you'll want a .45, and then a P226 Stainless Elite in .40 S&W because they are so nice, then a 1911 Stainless carry because eveyone needs a 1911. Rinse and repeat. :D
 
Why do you need night sights on your .22lr slide? I don't think it's worth it IMHO. You get the Siglite night sights on the 9mm conversion and adjustable sights on the .22lr.

I don't need the night sights on the .22, just the 9mm. Wasn't sure if it came with the 9mm conversion or not so that's great info! Thanks!

Here's my 2 cents in all of this decision making!!! Buy the Sig P226 Platinum Elite or any other Elite model which sells for around 1300 dollars and then get the P226 Classic in 22lr which is about 600 dollars and you got yourself 1900 dollars worth of Sig Sauer Goodness!!! That's a little more than 2 cents but than again it's Sig Sauer we're talking about here. :)))

What can I say, it's the German in me that likes things built right, the first time, functional and beautiful, and that lasts forever. What's not to like?:D

Although having said that, I also like some Italian things. Monica Belluci comes to mind......:)
