Need help deciding what rifle to purchase.

I have been thinking about this for a long time and would love some incite from individuals that own/shot these particular rifles.

I am in the market for a new “tacticool” rifle. I have narrowed down my search but still sit here scratching my head as to which rifle I like the best.

Now before I go on any further I plan to use this rifle 70% of the time at the range and 30% in the woods/Hunting. And of course the one I like the most is restricted.

Daniel Defense M4 V5
Love the overall look, quality, feel and function of this rifle. And the price tag is cheaper than all the others. Its restricted so obviously to and from the range only.
Tavor
Back heavy, awful trigger, feels awkward in my hands. I do like the overall look of it. Roughly $800 more than the DD. Non restricted 
XCR
Awesome trigger, Front heavy, don’t like the stock. Non restricted. And again roughly $700 more than the DD
Bushmaster ACR (18.5’’barrel)
There is nothing about this rifle I do not like but the price. Non restricted.
 
Not sure if you have seen....the Ruger SR556 is comes to you tacticooled from the factory. Restricted I think.
 
Have you looked into an HK SL-8? Pretty accurate, non-restricted, usually show up in the EE for about $$600-800 cheaper than the Tavor & $300-400 cheaper than the XCR. Can also be further tacticooled with G36 parts including an adaptor to use AR mags.
 
I have an XCR and it has been perfect for me. People make Loctite jokes about it, but it really is a great rifle. Haven't had one issue in 1000+ rounds.. It is a bit heavy, but it is nice machined metal, not plastic which I like. I want to get an AR as well, but to me going to the range just isn't as fun as the bush.
 
Although the tavor is heavy, the weight is really nicely balanced and is easy to carry, especially one handed. The acr non restricted will be quite pricey unless you wait, there are rumors it may be released with longer barrel from factory.

I have a daniel defense v5 right now and love it, its lighter than my short barrelled rifles by other brands. I am not a fan of the bolt catch and release being on the left hand side, it really bugs me and slows me down in tac rifle competitions, therefore I bought a BAD lever. I am considering selling it for the tavor because of how easy it is to manoeuvre and aim.

If you can justify the cost I would get the tavor, or heck get a DDM4 V5 and a Tantal in synthetic black : )
 
I'm thrilled with the Acr. Herron arms can convert to non restricted & give you caliber choices, 5.56, 6.8spc, 300blackout, etc.
I've fired a lot of guns in the last 30- 35 years but nothing has delighted me quite like the Acr, really cool tool !

Have you considered the core15 moe instead of the dd v5?

I like the trigger in my core better than the dd trigger. Maybe I lucked out, handle one and see for yourself, the dd is extremely light. and an excellent rifle.

You dont seem to like the tavor, no point buying a tavor when you dont like it.
xcr, I dont like it, and have yet to see one reason to but a lot of people like it
shrubmaster in nr guise is near impossible to find and past swiss money, and if the pending banhammer was not on the swiss I would recommend that.

I'm interested in the ACR, what makes it so great? I have a ddm4 v5, how much better or different is it than an ar-15 or a different premium rifle?

Ive spent time with the ACR.. its very "big" feeling in your hands, as in bulky. what makes it so great? you got me... Sure, its nice to have a quick change barrel and bolt for caliber conversions, but its easier to just change the upper on an AR. The charging handle in in a better place than an AR, but that's not worth the ACR price tag of 3 grand to me...
Just my opinions from spending time with the ACR....
 
I posted a similar thread a few days ago which was tavor vs xcr. I think I had similar interests as you in I wanted a cool gun that I can still go to range or hunting. Now I was literally driving to the gun shop deciding which one. When I got there and handled them, I realized the xcr was the choice. I'm very tall and the tavor to me felt like I was holding a tini little toy. Also it's not IMO a good hunting gun, xcr feels very much like any rifle when handling it, except looks cool. Here's mine bought it earlier this week.

If the ACR is actually worth $2700 is up for debate, but there are lots of things that make the ACR unique and excellent.

All the controls are right where they should be. Bolt release and charging handle are perfect. It requires no lube and almost no maintenance. It's properly piston driven. It has a folding stock. It can be converted to non-restricted with a new barrel. The front-end is a bit bulky with the enhanced handguard, but that is easily solved by swapping for the basic handguard instead. Honestly the only major drawback in the rifle itself is that it weighs about a pound or so more than a comparable AR.

I'm not saying that the ACR is for everyone, but don't just brush it off because you think it feels "bulky".
