Firstly, I am looking for a walnut 2x10, of which I need 5 or 10' depending on how much it is going to ring me.

Secondly, I need a moulding compound to make several recoil pads (raw rubber or similar).

I am in Ontrario, Toronto area.

One of the stores here (in Burlington) has 2x7" with a possibility of getting wider boards in a few weeks. Can anyone think of any place to get a 2x10 walnut, white birch or copper beech?

There's a sawmill around here which custom saws birch, mostly for flooring, but if you get desperate, I might be able to help there. I would suggest contacting Lee Valley Tools, they have some exotic woods, but I don't know if they would carry dimensions as large as you want.

Pretty skinny for a gun stock. Canoe paddle carving?

Paddle carvers need the type of blanks you are looking for. There's a guy in Waterdown/Freelton that does carving. Don't have a number, but he's probably in the book.
