I`m looking for sights for my 1958 Marlin Golden 39A. I`m about to chuck that GLOB they call a front sight. Anyhow, I`m up in the air on whether to: Scope it or new sights.
Guys have mentioned: Firesights some have mentioned Peep sights.
I hate decisions. I asked my local gun shop and the guy said he uses Peep sights. I asked him cause I was worried about eye strain. He said not at all, he even figured it helped alot. I wish I knew someone that had a few of both a guy could try. Gun stuff is almost like electronics...once you buy..its yours.
Guys have mentioned Williams. I`ve seen peep sights with the removable peeps and they look just like a scope rail. I also seen the peeps where they mount on the side(my gun has the threaded holes for this kind). I`m unsure if one is better than the other. I need people that have tried both and see what they prefer. Thanks,Darcy
P.S: I really really don`t want to put a scope on it. I find these old gems just don`t look right.
Thought I better add this: Just say a guy wanted to try and punch the same hole over and over, what open sights would work the best?
