Need Help Finding M14 Upgrade Parts

Hey everyone!

Looking for some help... I tried calling Brownells already(they wont ship the op rod). I am looking for a M-14 Gas Tube Shim Kit and M-14 Match Grade Stainless Op Rod Spring Guide, and a Better spring if available from somebody that can ship to Canada. Thanks!
 
get a hold of m14 doctor- he can supply most of what you need, one way or another-also "hungry" on this board- there's lots of m14 gurus around
 
I have never shimmed a gas assembly ....
At my last m14 seminar I demonstrated a simple, no cost, do it yourself alternative to the shims [ installing the shims requires you to remove the usually welded on flash hider, or cut the shims from an "O" into a "C" ].

Simply peen around the back of the gas assembly and the front of the shoulder on the barrel until you get proper displacement of metal that grows into a proper fit.
Use a FINE self striking machinest's center punch, and space the strikes evenly around the circimfrance.

Easy, Free ... it don't get much better that that.

for the actual Oprod (charging handle), brownells won't ship those.... over thier 100.00 limit but for an "M1A" match oprod spring guide rod and spring , they should be able to......
there are various choices here
in Canada, I can supply you with RWB usgi spec oprods and canadian made NM oprod spring guide rod that fit the chinese spring.
as for springs, again, brownells can ship you a WOLFE , M1A spring.
Brownells will not ship M14 parts, but many M1A parts are orderable.
as for shim kits, I also no longer use these , prefering to roll peen the barrel's gas assembly shoulder. Shims are okay but do tend to need replacing after a time.
it's pretty tough to roll peen this location yourself without a lathe and roll peen set up, but meticulous use of a fine punch will also work.

yes..... but the RWB oprod allows for custom fitting specifically to your receiver. Necessary upgrade...... absolutely not. Excellent replacement part for chinese rifles with sloppy fitting oprods however. FYI The price I can sell an RWB oprod for is less than or equivalent to what the guys in the US pay for chinese take off oprods.... which average about 150.00 on the US forum exchanges and the RWB is over 200 in the states from suppliers that carry them. Here in Canada, I can sell you an RWB oprod, new, for 120.00 plus tax and shipping....... not a bad deal if you ask me ;)
 
Sorry everyone, ipscgraz is correct.. I was looking for the spring guide.

I called brownells back and I asked them if they could ship national match spring guide made by BADGER ORDNANCE and they said yes. For some odd reason they did not want to ship the one made by SADLAK INDUSTRIES. Hopefully this will help anyone that might of had this problem ordering from them.

When you order that Badger guide rod...... be sure to also order an M1a oprod spring.... either springfield or Wolfe, as it will not accept your chinese spring.
Fabsports was carrying Sadlak items in the past but i have not viewed his online site in a while. However, Sadlak may be able to ship to you direct as they have shipped items north in the past.
