Need help fitting NEA handguards on CZ 858

Does anyone have any experience installing alloy NEA handguards on the CZ 858?

I just bought a set of upper and lower NEA handguards for my CZ 858 and find that the tolerances on the machining are so tight that the pin that secures the upper handguard got the rubber mallet treatment and needed vice grips to be removed.

Even without the pin in, both the front and rear of the upper handguard are very difficult to install and move fore-aft to align the pin holes.

Any help would be appreciated.
 
You want it to fit tightly. It will wear in as you install/remove it.

Don't use vise grips to remove the pin, knock it out with a punch from the other side. A brass punch and small hammer are handy for lining up the pin hole.
 
Yep, they're tight because anything good enough to keep ought to be tight when you get it...

I have had a lot of things that were tight when I got to them. They often loosened up with use, but if I give any product or item a try and it's loose to begin with, I leave it on the shelf for someone else.

Bottom line: they're easier to mount if they're loose, but in the long run you'll be happier with the tight ones.

And remember, wear your seatbelt, dont run with scissors and drink milk............. Originally i wrote something else here but felt it mean to dangle you guys with three new projects that are coming out for the 858 next month.

I used the Allen key shaped thing that was in the tool kit. I assumed that is what it was for.
