I'd like to build up an AR15, but I'm lost in the world of "options"
There's pictures without descriptions, and descriptions without pictures but I cant seem to put the two together.

I've trawled the net and found some nice looking stuff, but I dont know if it all fits.

So, HELP!

Barrel, "standard length" whatever that is. Must be able to fit a bayo on it, so the sight/gas block cant be set back too much.

Detachable carry handle/rear sight. So that's going to affect the type of upper?

What kind of lower is best for Quality/price?

Standard adjustable rear stock.

Sling is a must.

Handrail, easy on the pitcanny(sp?) rails, I dont want it to look like a cactus, but I'd like to add a light.

Any good links to read, I've been to Ar15 dot com and sog armoury.

This stuff's expensive so I'd like to get it right first time! :D

any help is greatly appreciated

Ritchie.

So your looking at a 20 inch or a 14.5 inch

yes you want a flattop or A3 upper not a A1 or a A2

for now your best bet is a stag or a rockriver see the sposor banner at the top of the page

Standard adjustable rear stock.

so that means you want a M4 clone more then likely so get a 14.5 inch

Not really. my 16" is fitted with a true midlength gas system, and I use my bayonet to stand it up in the locker - too short for the barrel to hit the racks!

Just get full length 1913 rails, and put rail ladders over the spots you are not using. I have a Daniel Defence 9.0 FF forend with knights panels and it is entirely comfortable to shoot, even more now that I put a vertical grip on it. besides, the front sight base style rails look ghey.
