Well.

I am almost ready.

However I need an understanding of the bullet drop and adjusting the turrets on my scope. I am using factory ammo untill I get set up for reloading. Don't even know the ballistics for the 22-250 and 308. What rates they drop.

Say a bullet drops 70" at a 1,000, how many clicks would be required to put it on paper?

As you read, I don't know much.......

Anyone who would like to educate me, please feel free. Just keep the terms in Layman.

With a 100 yard Zero a 150 gr .308 bullet fired at 2800fps will drop about 432 inches:eek: Or approx 43.2 minutes. 1 MOA @1000 yards is about 10 inches.

Here is a web site to help you out a bit.

So doe this mean that I would count up 43 on the turret? (clicks if counting or read micrometer style gauge) For the above example?
the "clicks" on a scope are usualy 1/4 MOA so if i read correctly you would have to multiply 43 by 4 giving you 172 "clicks.
also if your routinly shoot out to 1,000 look at getting a 20 moa base it has a forward cant of 20 moa to give you some extra upwards travel on your elevation turret

Signguy it right, 172 clicks. Easier to learn how to read the knobs, micrometer style. A 20 MOA base helps however you can also use Burris Signature rings with offset inserts to get the same results.
