loox like 55gr fmjbt vaget is for long barrel target rifles .i use h335 and shot out of my 14,5" barreled ar or blc2 very good results 27gr of of powder

I would start at 25 and test in 0.5 gr increments to 27 to see what grouped the best.
I'm looking for a load for my short barrel VZ58 and want something that can reliably cycle the action. That's why I'm thinking of loading pretty warm.

I haven't seen too many different makes of 55gr bullets, but I know there's a definite visual difference between the Lake City and Hornady 55gr FMJBT bullets I have. The lead at the bottom of the Hornady bullets is smoothed to the edges of the copper, almost as if the lead was poured into the copper and formed a miniscus before cooling. The Lake City rounds are rougher at the base and have a sharper edge between the lead and copper, as if the copper was forced around the lead (with a ity bitty copper lip protruding beyond the lead). Unfortunately, I don't have any other rounds to compare with, but those are the most common 55gr bullets around, so use the information as you wish.
