Picked up a crate of ammo and was just wondering if anyone could decipher the codes and give me some info on it ie: country of origin, corrosive or non, year of manufacture etc. Any and all info would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the help.

Confirmed for Polish and corrosive. An identical crate (sans lot number) was the first crate of surplus ammo I ever purchased. My SKS enjoyed it, although not as much as the Chinese and Ukrainian stuff that followed it.

Happy shooting.

Polish surplus, corrosive, as has been said.

The stencil on the can imparts:

7,62 [mm calibre] P [steel core] S [boat-tail] GS [steel case with wash] Wz 43 [Polish ordnance designation of the Soviet M43 cartridge]
W 59 [lot] 86 [production] 21 [factory] VUFL [powder type] 15 [lot] 86 [production] 361 [factory]
700 Sz [round count]

I think this is a heavier ca. 154 grain projectile, compared to the standard 124gn you often see. Loses nearly 100m/s velocity, but with the same energy; the point of impact will be different.
