need help identifying a carbine (pics inside)

You can also do a search for No.1 Mk III wood sets on e-bay as well. The sights Lou mentioned also stock a good number of replacement parts that aren't hard at all to find.

Shop around and you should be able to put it back to original shape for under $100.

nice i like to hear that! he's going deer huntig with it probably next week and after i think i'm going to make a project out of it during the winter!

i starting to like this milsurp thing lol!

Guys - why does the bolt have the late model rectangular fitting instead of the round one?

It's a post WWII FTR. I suspect it was done in the 1950's 53 or 54. I have had a few on these rifles. Birch wood and dam heavy, good enough to beat any ruskie to death. BSA barrels were used if required, FTR'd by Fazerkley. They have gold or reddish patina to the wood when original and un-bubba'd.

Most No1MkIII*'s have the square cocking piece after WWI , WWII refurbs or new builds have the square cocking piece up until the No4Mk1’s were in production.

This is one I had a year ago. Old stlye cocking peice but same furnature.
