Most identification has been scrubbed, by ishy I think. I'm not sure if the s/n is original or applied after it's re-build. You cant see it in pics but on the LH saide of the barrel, between the lightening you can faintly see 4 digits of a s/n beginning with 4 ending in 8. I have photographed any of the markings I could find in hopes they would help identify it's original manufacturer. Also is the Bolt the right one for a No.5?

Thanks for any input.

No.5

Definetly been through Ishy re-furb (RFI-Rifle Factory India). Bolt looks correct and appears to match. The circled D stamp is from factory meaning "Ball burnished barrel" or polished barrel I read somewhere.

If I did'nt know better I'd say it was built at Ishy. If the buttsocket has the correct serial# I'd say from the looks of it that it came from Shirley originally. Might want to ask Ian Skennerton though.
