When I was young, that was many years ago, my older brother had a 22 rifle which had a wooden stock, but with the front of the foreend in black plastic, which folded down to use as a foregrip.

Any idea what this model was, as I would like to find a used one out there.
Thanks to all.

Not sure of the model number, but it was made by Mossberg. I'll try and track down the specifics.

(Edit)
Like the bottom one perhaps? Model 352.

Thanks pharaoh2, i would like to find out, locate a picture, and one day find a used one, for nostalgia reasons, as that was the first 22 my brother got me to shoot with. regards

hi pharaoh2 and pfosted,

thanks for both of your help, you are both right, i followed up on both model numbers, both models had that funny flip down foreend, model 352 is the semi auto version, and model 342k is the bolt action. turns out mossberg ( i would never guessed, always thought it might be a cooey and that was why i never found it before) did several models with that foreend.

you guys are good, and fast, thanks again and i can now go hunting for one.

best regards !!!!

thanks everyone for all you help and advice on this thread

followed up on chanman's keen eye and memory, and have purchased this mossberg from gunrunner100 (and gracious help from bullseye67)

gunrunner saved this from eventually going from a gun store to a scrapyard, had the parts needed and fixed it up. it should be a dandy shooter for me and my children. best regards to all
