Need help identifying this gun

There are no visible markings on it
It is in very poor cond on the outside but the action is smooth and the bore is pit free
Trigger guard is plastic

Try looking up a Mossberg 42B which is a clip mag sporter.

Remove it from the stock and and have a look for markings. You'll have to anyways if you plan on restoring it. By the looks of the bolt and receiver it could be a CIL Anschutz.

Mossberg clips are hard to come by. Especially the 40-41 series. Your gun may take the more modern 140 series ...but still only a few around.

I have and shoot 3 Model 81DLs and they are extremely accurate out to 200 with a good scope. I love the tube mags as they cannot get lost and hold such a vast amount of ammo.

Thanks for the offer but I just sold our last .22 to put towards a .17 for varmint's.
If this is offered to me it will be turned around as project gun for someone
Just want to make sure I don't over pay for it.
