Need Help, IDF version Tavor

Hey nuts,

I'm fairly certain I have an early IDF version Tavor here.

Is the ONLY rail that would install on this rifle the Gear Head Works IDF 101 rail? or has anyone else with this model found that other rails will fit?

photos of your same rig would be appreciated, however if someone knows what they're talking about - just a reply would be appreciated.

was hoping for a full length rail if possible.

You don't have an early IDF tavor, the markings on your gun are not of the IDF's. Sorry.

I’m guessing Gen 1 then? That came with the barrel clamped metro ? The Gen 2+ rail does not fit whatsoever

What rail will work with this then?

You would need to change the Gas Cylinder to mount the Gen 2 rail like this one ....

So your options as is are:

1. Mount a M21 or similar directly to the barrel mounts

2. Find a short Gen 1.5 rail (difficult)

3. Buy the Gear Head Works IDF 101 rail

^This is what you would need.

Alternately, you would have to replace your gas cylinder and front sight assembly to be compatible with the factory last-gen full length rail. I converted my Gen2.5 into an IDF model, so I'm pretty sure I have the parts if you want to go that route. PM Me
