Need Help ID'ing these CZ550/557 rings...

They appear extra high and say "Australia" on them.



Edit: They are Hilver high rings. Perfect for 50mm objective.

Good to know. I have a set that were on a ZG47 and they do appear well made.

I can now confirm, they are indeed Australian Hilver (sometimes branded as Tasco). Nice quality.

With a 50mm objective, I still have some clearance with the Hilver high rings, but medium rings would be too low. With this set-up, the rear sight doesn't obstruct the view. I am very happy with these old rings as you can easily tell exacting machining quality/ tolerances as soon as you drop a scope into them.

Some history on Hilver products:

"Hilver WAS Australian and it seems was put out of business by the anti gun State government there. However, the rights were sold to Lynx and they moved to South Africa, but things it seems didn't work out and they merged or got brought up by Blount who own B-Square and they are now sold under that banner/name. Sadly, they do not seem to be of the same quality as the originals! The old Tasco steel mounts were in fact re-badged Hilvers."

So, if you have Hilver/Tasco rings and bases, hang on to them!
