Need help loading for Ruger Mini 14

Hi Guys,

What load are ppl running in their mini 14`s? I have to load a couple hundred rounds for a guy but don`t know hot hot to go. I was going to try loads for my bolt gun but wondered how much it needs to cycle the action.

Sierra has a special section for gas gun reloading and it generally bumps the max up by about .2 or .3gr. I have an accurate load built for my buddies mini-14 target. 25 gr benchmark under a 55 gr sierra btsp. 3050fps, .5 moa. Works good in my boss' tikka as well.

I shoot a lot of 69 grain Nosler bthp's and use either W748 or BLC-2. Very accurate and anchors coyotes out as far as I dare to shoot with my mini. With either combo I can get 1.5" all day long. Good velocity too.

my m14 runs 1 gr above min load just so i dont beat up the gun and my mini half way up the scale and hucks brass 30 feet so half way up the scale should make it run reliably and not beat the gun up especialy if it is for plinking any time i reload for a friend i ask #1how hard of a load do you want and load accordingly or make 5 rounds at 1 gr above min and see how it does

55 grn hornady V-max,23 grns IMR 4064,seems perfect for my mini target.
