Need Help Picking A Rifle.

Hey had to edit, just to narrow it down a little. I’m looking for a 30-06 or a 300win, for deer and moose hunting. Not sure what to get. I like the Tikka t3 but not sure about the composite, also like the Browning Stainless Stalker, but really not sure I have been looking for awhile now but can’t make my mind up, and also wondering if I should buy new or used, so any suggestions would help. Thanks.

Oh No! this will go on forever...:p

Get a synthetic/stainless in .30-06 in whatever brand fits you the best. Done...

that is all you need, and is just about the best bang for your buck right now.
all stainless, great fit & finish, solid reliable mauser style action (controlled round feed, will cycle in mud/snow, massive claw extractor), integral stainless quick release rings/bases (save ~$100), above average synthetic stock, all-purpose chambering, excellent bang for your buck scope.

if i didnt already have far too many guns (.30-06 class in particular) i would be all over this.
 
The 300 is great, but is a lot of recoil for a newer shooter.

I suggest you get someone local to let you shoot 20 or so shots from one.
The 30-06 will start to look pretty good!

Tell us what general area you live in and someone will chime in with a rifle.
You get to buy the ammo!

A guy could do a lot worse than a Ruger bolt gun, but your new rifle, whatever you choose, should grab your imagination. The choice of it's cartridge is more critical, particularly if you are not a handloader, and must use full power factory ammo. The .30/06 does most things that might be reasonably asked from a .30 caliber rifle. If you need more, than you are probably better served by bigger rather than faster, unless shooting at very long range is your intention. However you have identified moose and deer hunting as your primary interest, and neither are typically a long range gig in most parts of the country.
 
go for the 06- takes the same bullets as the 300, half the recoil, ammo is easier to get, and. if you need it's a 5 shot or better mag, not a 3- the magnums, when loaded to where they're meant to be, consume vast quantities of powder compared to an 06- and the 300 or any magnum "tempts" the shooter into SOMETIMES taking shots that he SHOULDN'T- ie the long "hail mary" - just because you've got the range potential DOESN'T mean you need to take it- take a few extra seconds,sneak a little closer, and use the 06- i use a 308 and i know that 267 is my pbmr( point blank range) with my load, so i can do 275 in a pinch- that's the maximum range which varies 6 inches in a circle and still hit vitals- the 06 is about another 10 yards- besides, a shorter range makes for a better stalker
