One of my best friends wife wants to get him a scope for him for christmas. I usually like to pick out my own optics, but I know he is not that fussy. I have had many good scopes over the years but none of my levers wear one. The henry is his do all gun. I took him hunting this year for the first time and he s hooked. I think her budget is going to be under 500, so was thinking an elite 32 or possibly 4200 3-9, but was wondering if anyone had any better suggestions. Matte or gloss? I really don't know what would look/function well on his .44.

Does anyone know if you can scope these? Anyone done it? My levers are all winchesters and marlins so I don't know much about the henry. I thought it had a drilled and tapped reciever, no?
