Here's my situation.

I'm a lefty and am looking to purchase a .22 rifle.

I'm looking for an accurate shooter out of the box. I also don't want to spend too much on it, $200 more or less.

I'm trying to choose between

Remmington 597 @ $149.00
Savage MK II GL @ $199.00 (Left handed bolt)
Ruger 10/22 (Basic) @ $249.00

I'm not interested in tricking out a 10/22, I just want a nice little plinker for target shooting and maybe to take into the woods.

Thanks in advance for the help...

Out of the options you list I would go with the Savage. However, you should have a look at the Left-handed CZ 452 American. It's more than you want to spend, but worth every penny, IMO. They are quality rifles and good shooters.

Good luck.

Buddy of mine (a lefty as well) likes his Savage 64 and doesn't have any problems with ejecting brass.

I shoot a Marlin 795 and if you plan on walking a lot, check out that rifle....very light and accurate out of the box (as long as a heavy trigger pull doesn't bother you too much)

P.S> My buddy the lefty has had no problems with ejecting brass in my Marlin too
