Need help to find old 8mm Mauser ammo .318 Dia.

I am looking for a couple of boxes of the old 8mm mauser ammo that was loaded with .318 dia bullets. Is this stuff still made or does anyone out there know where I might buy some? Any help on this matter would be much appreciated.

you are trying to find a very rare and collectable ammo. it is easier to find 303 savage ammo.

Are you looking for 8 x 57J or 8 x 57JR? Finding loaded ammo for the 8 x 57J will be tough, maybe some collectors ammo can be had. 8 X 57JR is still available.

Easy to make ammo for it. I use Barnes .318 bullets for mine.

Please explain what the difference is. A friend of mine just asked me to find him a box or two of 8mm Mauser that was .318 Dia.

RWS, Norma and a few others, still load the 318 diameter bullets. Usually a special order item though and neither brand is cheap.

Cheaper to get into reloading and buy an 8x57 set of dies with a 318 expander button.

8 x 57JR is a rimmed round meant for either single shot or combination guns. If yours is a bolt action that uses rimless, then reloading is the best way to go. Have you slugged the barrel to make sure it's .318"?
