I got this in a box of trinkets the other day, and for the life of me I can't remember what it was for.

I think it has something to do with the M2 .50 cal MG. Any of you guys know?

Those grooves look like the ones on the left side of the gun on the scope/sight mount.
The two pins and spring locking system look the same as the set up on the Carl Gustav 84 mm R.R.

Mystery solved and recce was on the right track. It is an obsolete sight mount for the Carl G. 84mm anti tank launcher. If anyone has one of these launchers and is collecting the accessories, pm me.
I guess, in the meantime, it will go into the junk boxes with all the other stuff I'll never use but must packrat.
Man, the day I die, is someone going to have one hell of a mess to sort out.

It was bad enough carrying one then, I'd hate to have one aroud the house now, price of powder would put me off shooting it and how do you resize the brass?

The two lugs are identical to the lugs that secure the optics on the Cg!
