This is my Grandfathers .22LR from what hes told me hes had it since the 50's. Just want some help to ID it properly thanks.

It looks like a TOZ-17 to me.
I used to have one with a scope mounted. The iron sights were missing.
It easily outshot my sporterized Cooey 64.

Your grandfather's TOZ doesn't have the grooves cut in the receiver for rails like this one:

I think the write-up in Wikipedia mentions that scope rails were done on what was a TOZ 18, which was apparently a variant of the TOZ 17.
On the rest of the receiver all it says is "Made in USSR". Unfortunately that's the only photo's I have at the moment.
