Caliber is 7,92 x 57 = 8mm Mauser

Manufacturer code si DOU year 45 So, can you explain IMPERIAL markings??

Also, there is a lot of inspection stamp 655 With Tiny Eagle

Side of Barrel is S/42G + K155

No Swastika or Nazi Markings except inspection punch (655 With Tiny Eagle) Everywhere

No Sign of peened or Erased (Grind Off) markings

There are 2 sets of Markings 1st is on the side of the Barrel

-1 Eagle Crest ???? (IMPERIAL EAGLE (ADLER))???
-2 Some Kind of Crown with a Capital U below it (GERMAN proof Rules of 1891)???
-3 Offset is what looks to me as a Lion

on receiver Again

-2 Some Kind of Crown with a Capital U below it

Regards Eric

desporterizer nailed it. Post war German proofs on a post war assembled k98k made from a m/m of salvaged or left over parts with possible new parts as well but not enough info or pics to tell what is what.

The e/655 is a part made by Mauser Oberndorf in the 39-41 year range.

I'm assuming the s/42G k155 is on the side of the rear sight sleeve and not the barrel? Another Early MO part. 1934 or 35 most likely.
