Need help to identify

A buddy gave me a rifle it looks like a snider enfield,hinged breech, but a 12 gauge shell fits in the chamber,i have no intention of firing this gun it's not in good condition but would like some info,any help would be appreciated thanks

Try googling 'Tabatiere' shotguns, which were Belgian conversions of French muzzle-loading muskets, apparently usually in 12 gauge, and were also known as 'Zulu' shotguns

When I was a reservists back in the late 70's we had snider enfield breech loaders that took shotgun shells . We used them for reenactments. Not sure what gauge they were been too long. We only fired blank rounds out of them. Not sure of their origin. We replaced them all when we got a grant from the government and bought muzzle loaders
