Hi all,

I stumbled on this P37 web pouch a while ago and was never able to figure out what it was.

Last week I was looking at web gear for the Inglis and I think I figured it out. It's a three mag pouch that someone has removed the interior dividers from.

From what I read they are fairly uncommon so I'd like to restore it. Unfortunately I can't find a single picture of what the inside is supposed to look like.

Could one of you fine folks send a picture of the interior my way and let me know what material it is? I'd appreciate it.

Nice find. I’ve never seen one before.

I agree with Sniper that there was probably the light canvas dividers inside it. I’d look around for some old beat to hell P37 year that you can scavenge the material from.

Scroll down a ways on this page until you see:

Never seen or heard of it either, but have been on the look out for one of those R.T.C. holsters for a while... From the description, it seems there are a variety of ideas as to what the purpose may have been, a two mag pouch an oil bottle, or single mag/cleaning bits, etc.

I'd send an email to Karkee Web and see if they have any shots of the interior of the pouch.

A very uncommon pouch. I saw one on collectors source website. It was missing the cleaning rod pouch on the back, and was listed at $200. I shot an email immediately but it had already sold.

I recall seeing a sort of similar pouch on the 64 pattern shoulder holster for the Browning Hi-power. I saw more than a few of them in KAF whilst wandering about on the boardwalk. I never saw them before that, and have not seen them since.

Seems like I don't get nuthin :(

There are 3 photos of this type pouch shown in Clive Law's book " Inglis Diamond" (p 195 and 196). Unfortunately none of them show the inside dividers. The photos are credited to a Gary Roncetti, who Clive mentions in the acknowledgements as a collector of webbing. Perhaps someone knows of him, and he could be queried for more information. I also notice that Ed Storey is mentioned as the owner of the one on Karkeeweb.com. I'm not sure Ed is on this forum, but he can be found on MLU and canadianmilitarycollectors forums.

The Karkee photos pretty clearly shows the 3 vertical rows of stitching on the front face indicating where the internal dividers are. You really don’t need more info than that IMO.

Ive got a complete one. If I get an email address I can send some cel phone photos of the interior. Unfortuately this 1950's brain cant figure out how to post the photos.

Sorry, what does RTC stand for?

OPs pouch looks like it had four slots... three wide and one narrow ie for oil bottle.

Never seen it before, neat find.

Weird that it doesn't have any way to secure it in position to the 37 patt belt?

You've seen a three mag pouch on the 64 patt shoulder holster? Huh. Had no idea. All I've ever seen is the 2 + oil bottle.

I believe it stands for Royal Tank Corps.

And from what I understand it was to go with the wood holster for the Hi Power for the Chinese contract. Which also just had a belt loop.

Looking at the stitch pattern it looks like one continuous piece was used to make the dividers. Kinda hurts my brain to figure out how it was done though. I'm sure a good seamstress could figure it out in five seconds and fix it up in a few more given the right materials.

Ahhh, gotcha.

The only wrinkle there though is that the RTC hadn't existed for five years by the time the first Inglis HPs were produced? By that time it was the Royal Armoured Corps.

The RTC holster being referanced is for the Enfield No.2 revolver. It's the long leg drop holster that was quickly discontinued
