Hello everyone,
Can someone help with the following:
First, how can I remove the sight ramp from the barrel. I believe it is soldered. If so, can I use the torch that I would normally use the solder copper pipe?

Secondly what is the thread of the tang screw? I think it is not a common thread? Is it easy to find the tap and die?

Thank you for helping

You may be able to remove the sight base with a Mapp torch setup but not likely with just propane. It is most likely silver soldered and propane doesn't get hot enough for traditional silver. Be aware, heat from a torch will mess the bluing on the surrounding area of the barrel unless you use something to divert the heat (heat control paste etc...).
As for the thread size, see if you can find a thread pitch gauge. Most gun screw threads are not standard pitch available at Cdn Tire.

Good morning,
Thank you for helping me. The thread pitch gauge that I am using indicate a 0,25’’ x 40 TPI. This puzzles me, I would have thought that a Japanese Browning would have metric screws??
