I'm going to be putting my Dan Wesson 44mag. up for sale and need an idea as to the value. My blue book is sparse on values for the original DWs. Its a Model 44VH in 44mag., interchangeable 6" Bull Barrel with vented rib, bright blue finish. Included in the sale will be the original DW multifunction tool, the proper .006 shims for barrel setback and an extra set of Pachmyr Presentation grips. The rib has been D&T for an included Weaver rail scope mount. I bought it new in 1988 and still have the original factory stryofoam box for it. It has been lightly used and I think might be considered excellent plus condition. All comments/opinions of value appreciated.

Well i cant believe anyone responded..

I really dont know much about DW revolvers... I have 2 S&W.. but i would think it would be worth from $700-$1000 bucks depending on condition.

DW while well made don't fetch S&W prices. Little to no parts availability and not too many smiths can work on them. Got my Monsoon 44 with three grips, two barrels and assorted small parts for under 600. Nice wheelies but they just don't command top dollar.

Maybe if it was a 445 SuperMag, then it's the rarity factor.

I also have a Monson-made .357 with 4 digit serial#. I wouldn't take less than $550 with the tool and shims. Mine doesn't have any cylinder ring or rust pitting, just a couple light scratches on one side. Would love to have the .44 but it would have to be near excellent before I'd shell out more than $650.
