Hello
So, I’m going to be buying a 1301 tactical soon and have no idea of what chokes I need.
I’ll be using it at the range ,slugs and double aught buckshot.

Maybe a rabbit or grouse…maybe lol

Thanks

For rabbit hunting, a modified choke is generally recommended for a 12-gauge.

Using shot sizes like #4, #5, or #6 will provide good results in terms of pattern density and effectiveness.

Chokes are like automobiles. Many makes and models. In general shotgun chokes are specific in what they fit. There are some that work in different guns but these are the exceptions to the rule. Even in one company they will have different models depending on the year the gun was manufactured.

will any make of choke fit any make of shotgun?
Will any make of auto part, fit any make of automobile? Shotgun chokes are no different, the manufacturers use different styles and threads, and although there is some overlap, there are many different styles/sizes, and you need to buy the correct choke for your shotgun.

Thanks , I think have a good understanding of what I need now.
I’ll probably pick up a few extras and experiment with them as well.

I’m still researching if the mod 2 is much better than the gen 1,I’m pretty sure it’s going to be the mod 2

The Gen 1 1301T doesn't have removable choke & some people found the action release problematic.

Either go with a Gen 2(you can always add the Mod 2 handguard & lifter later )or Mod 2 with all the add on's & flat trigger.
