Need help with a Mauser K98

I need help with this Mauser k98. Its all matching, but somehow its strange. The eagles seems scrubbed, the barrel seem new or changed at one time. Its a BYF 1942. There,s like a ''ghost'' serial number above the regular one. Can anyone help me know more about this rifle?

Looks like maybe a post war rebuild based on the Crown proofs on the barrel at the wood line. I think they may be west german markings, not sure.
Would need to see alot more pics.

Are there any stamps on the wood? Check on the butt of the rifle.
