Got an older SKS from a friends dad last weekend. It looked to have been in the closet for a very long time. I cleaned out the bore and it looks to be mint, with some cosmolene still poking around here and there. I checked the numbers, and it seems to be a sheetmetal receiver Chinese SKS in the 7 million serial number range. Numbers match on all metal and stock, and it is not frankenpinned.`"D" stamped on the rear sight I think means military? The only think that takes away from full military condition is the front side mount sling loop has been broken off as is pictured. What are these worth up here? How rare are they? Any help would be appreciated and sorry for the quality of the pics.

Very interesting rifle.

Although I've never seen one like that in person, they're probably not worth too much as most people are going to view it as just another Chinese SKS, and it's missing the front sling swivel. If it's lightly used or unfired, you could probably pass it off for $180 bucks. If I wasn't as poor as Africa I'd consider making you an offer, although that missing sling swivel is a bit of a turn off.

With the gas block replaced/repaired that rifle in the U.S.
would sell for for $600-$900. They are rare and most SKS
collectors would love to have it.

Shame the swivel is cut, I read somewhere the stamped receivers are rare.

As for being sold in the us, not possible due too the import ban against Chinese arms manufactures

Put it in your Transporter and beam it over to them. Otherwise there is no point of talking about it. Its got a few interesting markings, but still not more than 200 bucks without the damaged bracket.

These stamped receiver rifles are quite uncommon.
To a blaster who sees the SKS as a cheap rifle with which to blow through cheap ammunition, it would be worth no more than any other SKS.
To a collector who is seeking SKS variants, it would be worth somewhat more.

Ask Curtton.
