I load sts shells with 7/8 load and i use cheddite primers and waa12L claybuster wads(used with 7/8 load). i have a whole bunch of double a hulls that i want to reload too. i cant seem to find any info on a 7/8 load with my supplies that i have. if anyone can help me with any info. for example is this load possible and if so what bushing to use in my mec. i already tried the imr website with no luck. thanks

The Cheddite primer can be treated the same as the Win 209, Rem 209P and the CCI 209. Thanks for your note and have a nice day.

This is what I received from Alliant today about the different primers

So, should be easier to find a recipe now.

Cheers!

I cannot comment on the Cheddite primers but here are some 7/8oz. loads.

These loads are from the 15th edition WW book.
7/8 oz. lead shot
WW AA hulls
WWaa12L wads
All are 1400 fps.

Powder: WST WSL WAAP
Charge: 23.5 22.0 23.0
Primer: All with Win.209

I have similar loads with different primer combos also, note that the loads change when you change the primer.

okay i am using a 28 mec bushing which gives me 16.9 grains of 700x. I am thinking i just will load the same load for both shells. some one please tell me if this is wrong. using the same recipe with the sts shells and the aa shells. thanks

Yes you can use the same load in both hulls with out a problem, you may have to adjust you depth of final crimp, but other than that you should be good to go.

I personally use red dot for 7/8 12ga. loads, a little softer shooting and a bit cheaper.

Red dot is highly recommended for light loads.

Not sure what you are shooting, but one of the posters above had a load for 1400 fps, that is a little too fast in my opinion unless you are shooting international skeet.

I would try to load around 1150-1200 fps

My 2 cents
