Hi Roy,

I can't see you having much luck locating AMT Stock parts, they are long gone. However, I'm sure Dark International and Armco could help you out with a aftermarket set.

Good luck with the Hardballer, the QC on them was a little uneven. Seems people either get good ones or very, very bad ones.

Make sure to grease the rails, the AMT were the first Stainless Steel 1911 and used the same material for the upper and frame. Galling was pretty common.

Check first to see if it is a Millett and if so, your problems are over. Alternatively, you can check wtih the guys over at the Automag forum who pretty much have the handle on such things:

Keep a close eye on the barrel bushing A Collector. The front end of the slide, made out of spec' was not uncommon with the AMT. A battered bushing may or may not give you a heads up before it decides to depart the slide under spring pressure. Sometimes resulting in fired bullets and a bushing and guide rod coming out the front maybe. Frequent inspection of the bushing for looseness is a good idea IMO. In some cases this is first noticed when one has split groups for some unknown reason. Unless you are a seasoned pistol shooter or firing it from a Ransom Rest, this strange accuracy issue may go un-noticed until it's too late.

be careful friend......
