Need help with finnicky 10/22 action

Hey everyone,

picked up a 10/22 yesterday, and im having an issue with the action -

the bolt will not lock back on a dry magazine. After engaging the switch which locks the bolt pack when the bolt is pulled rearward i was unable to release the bolt forward again (no mag in the gun). eventually, it finally released forward after many attempts at tugging away at it.

has anyone else had this problem or knows perhaps what the issue is? any help would be greatly appreciated

In order to release the bolt after toggling the bolt lock, you need to depress the lock button again to get the bolt forward. What you need is an auto bolt release (mfg or modded) to be able to pull the bolt handle back to release the bolt.

And it does not lock back by itself.

Jt is right, the 10/22 is not equipped with a last shot hold open. Woulda been nice but, it's ok since the 10/22 is "ok" to dry fire.

And as for locking the bolt back manually with the toggle switch.... It's gonna take you a lot of practice, and finding the proper way to hold your tongue to get it down pat!
