Need Help with M1 Carbine......Front Sight is Loose!

Hi I was recently out in the woods with my NR 1943 IBM m1 carbine.

While shooting some bottles my zero started wandering. Upon inspection I noticed the front sight was slightly loose.

Anyone know how to fix a loose m1 carbine front sight?

Front sight should be secured with a key and a cross pin. If it is secured mechanically and still wiggles, I would be inclined to use an adhesive.
This is a rebarrel? Maybe the specs are off.

Yes I’m 99% sure this is a rebarrelled. I’ll post pictures when I get some free time.

Well, legally, if you are out in the woods with it, let's hope it is rebarrelled...

It is really a simple fix, get or make a slightly larger cross pin.

You may see the end of the front sight key when you look at the sight from the front or rear. It is possible to use a punch to peen the end of the key to tighten the sight unit up a bit.
