Hey,

I'm currently replacing the butt stock on my norinco 311 with a colapsable stock. And apparently the lower receiver and the new sock have different threads so it just doesn't screw in...please post any suggestions.

Thanks

I would chase the threads of the receiver with the proper tap, (I have all the taps for the AR receiver avail to me). Otherwise, perhaps getting an AR 'smith to do the same would be the way to go.....

The Norinco threads are metric. They'd have to be re-threaded to conform to your butt stock's thread. I had that done to mine (a friend did the work), it wasn't complicated.

Keep in mind that if you retap and don't like the collapsable, you will need to buy a NEW A2 buffer tube, as the Norinco will no longer fit.

Personally, I'm with Hitzy... fixed stocks look better with 20", but that's just me. Good luck!
