How do I get rid of this gap? My Russkies do not have this gap.

The receiver springs back when I press on the rear, like when re-assembling the rifle. The bottom front of the receiver sits on the stock crossbolt properly.

I'm concerned that, when assembled, the receiver is in constant state of stress because it has to bend to fit the stock. Internal parts could be slightly mis-aligned as well. The trigger assembly is difficult to release for dismantling the rifle. TIA

I have a Russian shooter that was that way. It was really hardto get out of the refurbed stock, and was a pain to get back in. Massage the stock a bit at the front of the action, and bellow the barrel before the recoil lug. It should work then, mine did.

Massage? Do you mean "press"? Should I remove wood material in said area?

I removed the recoil lug to see if it was preventing the action from seating.
Apparently, the action is properly aligned to the recoil lug.

The action removes easily and it goes into the wood easily with or without the recoil lug, except for that last 1/8th of an inch.

The wood will flex before your reciever does no worries. A tight Chinese is better then a loose russian ;)

I took a small rasp and gave it a couple of passes. The action quit rocking, but still went together tight. Only one I've ever had do that.
