need help with price

I'm trying to find out the price of a shot gun that i have, a friend of mine wants to buy it.It's a 12 gauge o/u with 28'' barrels,the choke's are full/modifided. The name on the gun is Rota.L.Sarezzo with a VT after the name and made in Italy below. On the other side of the barrels the words Acciaio-Vickers and Canne-cromate are written.the gun is in about 90-95% condition with only a small nick on the bottom of the forearm. Any information will be a big help thanks

Luciano Rota, of Sarezzo, Brescia, Val Trompia. Still in business, I think. Rota was imported into the U.S. by Tristar, located in N. Kansas City, MO, and by New England Arms Corp., located in Kittery Point, ME. The guns are no longer imported.

The Blue Book mentions only SxS's, and the prices range from $295 to $1,475, so you might be better off asking one of the former importers for an opinion.

Italian guns have a date code stamped into them. Here is a table:

Acciao means steel, so you have Vickers steel barrels. Canne - cromate means chrome plated barrels.

Also, if there is a local gun store, you can take it there and get an opinion from the store on the sell/buy price.
