Hi.
I acquired a number of pulled military bullets. They are 8mm (.323). They are FMJ spitzer boat tail bullet with a cannelure....its not the typical knurled type of cannelure but it's more of a formed/pressed indentation into the jacket. I weighed about 4 on my scale and they vary from about 217-220 grains. They are silver in colour, the jacket is steel as a magnet pulls pretty good, the core is lead. Was this originally a German MG bullet?
I'm looking for some loading data for these and have failed to find any on the net. Want to run a fairly hot load....will be used primarily in K98's and FN 49's.
Powder I have in stock are 748 Win, Rel#7, and H4895.
Any help would be appreciated.

My #12 Speer manual specifies in BOLD that their loads were developed using European guidelines that exceed the SAAMI pressure limit.
PM me if you would like some .pdf's of these loads....from the manual:)

it sounds like you have a bullet from a 7.92x63 round. I pulled a thousand some time ago and saved all the powder and worked up a load that would function my 34. when loaded right they tear through steel plate and are very accurate.

Have at it with the K98's. Need to load with some attention for the FN49. Just be careful with maximum loads, that's all.

I pull those "silver" bullets to use in regular loads for my old 8mm-06, then load the 8mm surplus cases with maybe around 12 grains of Unique and a .324 lead cast and shoot them off in an ugly M48. Just clean the barrel good and run a nice sloppy patch of Fluid Film through the M48 to stop any corrosion.

Are you running corrosive primers or why would there be corrosion with lead cast?
