I've reloaded about 150 rounds of 45 acp with 6.5gr Unique powder, and win primers. I'm using 230 gr round nose jacketed bullets. My problem is out out he 150 or so . I have had 3 squibs. Any thoughts? I'm using a Dillon 550B press.
after you pushed the projectile out of the bbl, was there a lot of powder coming out with projectile? If unburnt powder in bbl(LOTS OF POWDER) primers are suspect. If very little or no unburnt powder then LOW POWDER VOLUME in case or NO POWDER! Becarefull of detonation
Do you double check your powder charge if it is indeed the right amount you intended to load after it's gone through the the second station (powder die that is)? I suggest you check the consistency for dispensing the powder at least few rounds interval until you are sure it is charging properly.
Sounds like your powder charger is not setup properly.
I run unique through my Dillon 550 powder measure all the time without problems. I think it has to be an issue with your return rod or possibly short stroking as previously mentioned.
XLR8, it's not your load that's the problem. You are probably short stroking the handle bar. Bottom line, you have to make sure that's powder in the casing before sitting the bullet in station 3.
