I need help finding Canadian dealers or suppliers of steel targets.

I need (A/C zone) pistol grade steel targets, and separate rifle steel targets.

They need to be portable.

We are looking at purchasing dozens of these targets, but the need to be Canadian made, or at minimum Canadian supplied.

Also has anyone seen a portable shroud that would cover these targets for use at civilian ranges in Ontario?

Any help would be appreciated.

most clubs just go down to the local welding shop and have then make them up. any good grade of steel works. if you want i can send you the NRA standards for steel back stops and you can use that as a guideline.

as for portable shrouds i don't know what the Ontario CFO wants but we have made them out of 2 x whatever and just set them over. the other ones we have done is to use two closet doors and Vee them at the top and just set them over the targets.

Great guy...and can build what you want

He is in BC...not sure if shipping would be an issue

I have emailed that guy 3 times and another club member has done the same and he does not return them..... we are looking to buy 10 pepper poppers and frankly have given up on getting them from him even though he is just about local.

your value may vary....

if anyone really wants and is willing to pay the shipping, i have a welder, who shoots IPSC, who can make you steel targets. let me know what you want and i will get a price and if you give me your location an approximate shipping cost.

Thanks Farmboy...

Seems like most ranges made their own steel targets.

I am still looking for anymore suggestions on suppliers of steel targets if anyone has any?

To open up this post abit more...

Does anyone have any experience dealing with back splash, and ways of reducing it?

forward falling eliminates most of the splatter problem.

and i did tell you i had a welder that can make you targets in post #5.

Thanks Walter, we have welders that can make targets as well. We are looking for a commercial steel target.

Lots of companies in the States, but due to the paper work, its better if we get it local.

I agree with the 20 degree down angle, but we are still getting throwing star shaped fragments from our jacketed pistol rounds.

Fragmentation rounds doesn't seem to give us a loud enough ring, but it may be our steel was too hard, as we were using rifle targets for both.
