Need info on old rimfire

A relative purchased an old .22 at an auction. I was wondering if anyone has any info as to age and valua on this gun. The following is written on the gun:

Anciens etarlissements Pipper
Herstal-Belgium Bevetr GDG
Patented Jan 12 1909
Modele depose
*22 short* Modele 1912

The stock is homemade and it is missing a firing pin. I know it isn't worth much but I am just curious about the gun.

Pieper was a large manufacturer of rifles, pistols, revolvers and shotguns pre WWII. Is it a bolt action? Four Pieper BAs are shown in Adolph Franck catalogue c1911, price 22-48 Marks.
