Need info - Wk180 and Magnifiers

Hey all,

recently picked up one of the Vortex Micro3X magnifier and to my (not really) surprise, it won't fit. There isn't enough clearance between the top rail and the WK dummy thicc receiver.

Anyone run a flip magnifier behind a red dot on a WK? which brands fit?

Yeah. The gap is a bit too narrow for some optics.

Yeah. I ended up using one of my variable powered scopes instead. The scope-rings fit no problem.

I thought about it, I really did but in the end I thought I better see what else is available before I commit

It does fit. You just have to pull out the screw that is holding the QD attachment.

Not all WKs were machined the same.
My Vortex Huey wouldn't fit on mine with the QD screw out, not even close. Only way would have been to shave the clamp on the Huey or shave the receiver itself. Eotech was the same.

It is possible it was machined out of spec. Did you contact kodiak with this problem?

Kodiak is well aware that they made the top rail way out of spec on the first many batches of rifles. Wouldn't be surprised if the new ones are still nowhere close to spec
