Hello guys, bought this Jet lathe model 1550 and need some info for it. I tried googling but didn't find anything yet. I'm looking for the wiring diagram of this lathe or one that would be close. It was supposedly made by Colchester/Clausing for Jet and that it would be the same or close to a model 8033. Any leads to know where or who I can call to get that info would be great. I was told it was made in 1985. The second thing I would like to get would be a parts list or exploded parts list of a similar lathe. The owner said that it doesn't have a brake and the pedal was just an emergency stop. I believe there is some missing parts under there because the shaft has an arm under there that used to be attached somewhere that is not anymore. Is it possible that a brake would be attached to the motor pulley in some ways? If you guys want to see the picture of it. Type in Jet 1550 metal lathe for sale on kijiji. Tks

kijiji listing seems dead. Seems like a serious enough machine that you could ask on the practical machinist forum and probably get a fast answer.

Don't even mention the Jet name on Practical Machinist....they will find your house and burn it.....lol. The great gurus PM do not consider import lathe worthy, just the north american. I was lucky I moved before they find me when I mentionned that name.

I suggest homeshop machinist.

LOL gaetoune, thanks guys. I will try that. Reached jet in the states. They have a manual with parts list and told me a company name for when they do not have stock or can't get it nomore.

lol ya PM can be a touch fussy when it comes to imports. In general if it's a large enough commercial type machine, which that one seemed to be, you should be ok. As long as it's not one of the G's.

Oh ya. PICS or GTFO Blackjack. Shows us da tool ####s.

Here it is. Need to fix an electrical problem and should be good to go.

Nice one. Looks pretty clean. Now you just have to decide which body parts you don't use all that often and how much you can get on EE for them and tool the puppy up.
