Hi everybody ! I am a new in the 22caliber world, Just got a mossberg 715T flat top 22LR for my girlfriend , anyone has input as to which brand of amo and how many grain would work best for target practice ?

Welcome to the world of rimfire, sadly you will have to buy a bunch of the small 50 round boxes of .22 ammo and see what works best for the rifle.

A lot of .22's are finicky like this, so get it out to the range or bush and see what does not jam in it.

Warning, holding the magazine while firing can cause feeding issues (Manual even alerts you to this).

There may also be random sticky points in the mag when loading it, these are just casting marks that will smooth out the more you load and unload your magazines.

Enjoy your rifle.

Lol , mine would only feed reliably with the thunder bolts. Load the mags full and let them sit for a wk. it loosened up the springs.

I have a 715t and recommend the cheapest ammo you can find, and just live with any issues, unless they can be corrected for zero cost.

All you can do is keep trying ammo until you find something that works for you.

While I dont have a mossberg my go-to ammo is Anything-But-Winchester. I've had nothing but problems with both 333 bulk packs and 50-packs of Wildcat.

Welcome to CGN ;)

NAA.

I bought a 715 for my wife. Initially we had feed problems with it but found Federal bulk pack of 40 grain round nose worked well. Feeding improved after I took the magazines apart and cleaned up some of the marks on the sides of the plastic follower. Also seemed to help keeping the magazines loaded for a few days before taking it back out to the range. No problem fully loading them now. Quite happy with the rifle. Welcome aboard and happy shooting.
