I need a couple of shotshell caddies for 3-gun this year. Looking at the Carbon Arms 6-round Pinwheel or Invictus Practical 2.8 from Brownells? Carbon Arms comes with the Tek-Lok for $72 USD. Invictus holds 2 extra rounds and is $68 USD but then I need to factor in the extra cost for the Tek-Loks which aren't included. There's also the Ram shell caddy with Tek-Lok for $50 USD that holds 6 rounds. The price is certainly attractive but the shell spacing looks pretty tight and I don't know if that is a good thing when running and gunning. I would appreciate your thoughts as I am unable to try either of these before buying. Pros and cons of each? Thanks.

had the chance to used the Invictus 10D and 2.8, easy to grab but quick to drop too, have to polish a little bit of the edges of the clips, kinda sharp, overall its a great caddy. Switched to Safariland 068 and it comes by 4's or 8's , very secure and easy to grab, but its not as compact than Invictus and Carbon. btw, I'm using the ELS system by Safariland, prefer to have just one belt for all the 3 firearms.

I actually used the Carbon arms and they were great. I got the Invictus for Christmas this year or else I would have been buying the carbon arms. Select shooting supply in Ontario sells them but you gotta check if they have stock.

I really like the looks of the Carbon Arms but am only planning to get two caddies. Worried that 12 rounds on my belt plus the 6 in the shotgun won't be enough. Going with the Invictus gives me 4 extra rounds. I suppose I could just try missing less often...

As was said, if you have big fingers/hands the Invictus can drop shells if you knock them while grabbing. A little more space between them would be nice. I just made the switch to the Safariland ELS and am very impressed with them. I also worry about not having enough rounds on some stages so I load up a velcro side saddle and slap it on the gun in case I need it.

I would suggest a chest ring that holds like 24 if possible. It's not legal for IPSC shotgun but if your not doing that, thats what I would recommend.

How many times do they have stages that are 30+ shells? Even 20+ I have only seen like 14 max.
