Beautiful rifles. I have two now. I recently picked up a new one in 30-06. I am not able to separate the barrelled action from the stock. Action screws come out easy. But, it feels as though the barrel is glued into the barrel channel approximately 5" from the muzzle. I am hesitant to force it as I do not wish to crack the stock. I have slide a thread under the barrel and it catches at the 5" mark.

Anyone else encounter anything similar? Are the barrels bedded? Maybe bedding material bonding the barrel to the stock?

An update for anyone else with a Bavarian Carbine. I finally received a response from Stoeger Canada, after multiple emails and months ...

What does not appear in the current schematics is a bolt on the underside of the barrel that acts as a hook within the barrel channel. Obviously, the action screws are removed first. Lift the receiver carefully then slide the entire barrelled action firmly to the rear. The hook under the barrel that is hidden by the stock fits quite firmly into the assembly. Just be careful to not raise the receiver too high otherwise the forearm will crack. It's a snug fit.
