So I have done some research on loading for this rifle I am aware of bullet weights and and burn rates, what I have on hand is Sierra game king 150 # 2125 bullets and IMR 3031... A little fast and IMR 4320 ... A little slow I'm looking at sierras load data and don't know which I should use ? Any help would be appreciated

I'm currently working on a batch using imr 4320. I did look up load data on the hodgdon website. h ttp://www.data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp pretty cool site to have. You can sort by powder, bullet weight, powder, pretty versatile tool.

Ya this is the best read I have found ... Do you use small base die's ? I loaded a small batch with my RCBS full size Match die set 39.5 IMR 3031 in win brass with 150 gr game king they manually feed and extract good I think they are good to go

I've also never used small base dies and have fired 500ish rounds in my Norc M305/M14S. Had a couple jams but they are all from the brass bouncing off my scope mount back into the path of the bolt. Only rounds that wouldn't chamber (at all) where my just-for-fun attempts at converting .30-06 to .308. I had some that wouldn't chamber without slapping the bolt manually but those where my experiments with only neck sizing the brass after firing it in the M305. Between everyone I know who has an M14S/M305 there are probably a few thousand rounds fired and no one uses small base dies.

My pet load is currently:
Hornady 150gr FMJ/BT
43gr IMR4895 (better accuracy than any load of H4895 in my rifle for whatever reason)
CCI standard large rifle primers
Remington or Winchester brass always full length resized (regular .308 Win dies)

Some people will also say you HAVE to use military primers with harder cups but I've never heard of a slam fire in a well maintained gun with Win, Rem, or CCI primers. Federal primers tend to be softer so I would avoid those for military style floating firing pin semi autos. If you don't maintain your guns properly and have a slam fire from a jammed firing pin, that's your fault, not the primers.

After reading the zediker site, and seeing the picture of the firing pin indent on that case he has a picture of, I decided to test out my rifle with Winchester primers using federal brass. Even letting the bolt go from halfway it leaves a pretty decent firing pin impression in the primer. Found that a bit worrisome, enough so that I'm not going to go ahead with this batch until I get CCI primers.
