I have a nitro piston break barrel 177 cal. I think its time for a new scope. I have had 3 scopes on this gun and holding zero becomes an issue ater a while with all 3. Latest scope is a UTG Leapers 4x16x40. what's your input for a $250 max scope. looking in the 3x9x32 area

The Hawke line of air rifle scopes is superb for the money. I have them on my air rifle and my .22 LR.

Can someone provide some additional information about what is a suitable (rugged) scope for a GAMO .22 cal Magnum springer rifle. I have two Hawke scopes on other non-air rifles that I'm very pleased with. However, as far as my research shows, there are no scopes that the manufacturer states as being specific for a high power springer air rifle.

I emailed Luepold asking if they make a scope that would be rated for a high velocity.177 Springer air rifle. I was surprised when I got the reply:
All Leupold scopes are certified to work with air rifles. Below are recommendations.

100-182666 VX-3HD 6.5-20x40mm (1 inch) EFR CDS-T Diamond
100-182502 VX-3HD 6.5-20x40mm (1 inch) EFR CDS-T Fine Duplex
100-175075 VX-Freedom 3-9x33 (1 inch) EFR Airgun Fine Duplex
These are out of the OP budget stated but may be able to find a good used one.
I used Luepold on a previous Springer that was high velocity and never had an issue with a wandering zero.
Put it on the one I have now so I guess time will be the best judge.

The Hawke line of scopes are used on the most powerful springer Air Arms makes... I think you may be trying to fix something that isn't broken.

I bought a Hawke 2 X 7 with AO for my Gamo. The rifle ate the scope in 200+ shots. I just sent the scope in for warranty.

From what I have read, the Hawke Airmax are rated for springers but the Vantage models are not. I don’t own either but thinking of getting an Airmax.

That is correct.

Just ordered an Airmax to replace a pooched Leapers on my RWS 34. Got several good years from the Leapers but when I went to return it last week for its life time warranty , it was going to cost me $114 for duties and tarriffs because of its Chinese heritage. I hope that I if I have issues with the Airmax I will be able to return it to Hawke UK not Hawke USA.

Just found out from Airgun Source that if a return is needed their is no problem as the Canadian distributor looks after all issues right in Ontario.

The warranty service in Canada is absolutely excellent! I recieved a replacement unit in only four days after my damaged scope was delivered to them in Peterborough. In the meantime I replaced the original Gamo scope onto my rifle. We'll see how long it lasts. The rifle is a tack driver (with both scopes), especially considering it has a rather heavy trigger pull.
