Well, after a pleasant drive, I picked up my Remington 700 5R Milspec. Now I need to sort out the optics question. I have a 20MOA base coming for it, and am aiming at the semi-long range capabilities (once my skill set gets there). On one end, I really like the Leupold Mark 4's, but budget wise I dont know if im really ready to jump into that territory. I have heard favorable reviews of falcon optics, but I guess I'm a little skeptical of the repeatability of zero and the adjustments that will be made. What have you guys put on a similar rifle? The requirements I have are that they have target turrets and a decent magnification, otherwise I am pretty open.

Thanks

I have a bushnell 4200 tactical 6x24x50($650)and a falcon menace 4.5x18 ($400), they both are good scopes. less eye relief on the falcon and the bushnell has better target turrets.

Falcon menace 4-14x44 FFP metric. Repeatability is there along with ease of sighting in or correction/follow up shots + decent glass for a great price(hard to beat if @ all possible); almost forgot to say the eye relief is huge on these which is great. Love mine I'm sure you will also. Make sure your reticle matches your turret knobs(clicks).

Happy Shooting :)

Depends on your budget. I have used many Elite 4200 scopes and they have been fantastic deals. The 30mm Tactical is a great value for both optics and mechanicals. The other target/varmint models with mil dot reticles are less money and do a great job. They just don't have alot of up but the base and Burris rings solves that problem.

The best higher dollar scope I have handled/sold is the Sightron SIII LR. The optics on this is awesome and the mechanicals are solid. Lots of internal adjustment as well.

For up to 1/2 the cost, you are getting a great scope that equals the upper end Leupolds and NF.

The various VXIII and Mk4's offer alot of features not found in other scopes. Getting up there money wise but the support/warrranty is likely the best in the business.

I can offer you scopes from Elite, Sightron and Leupold at great pricing.

Let me know...

I have 2 Mark 4's with the TMR reticle and really like them. You can save some money and pick up a used one from one of the fellow members if you want to keep the budget down. If you want to go new then another one to look at is the Zeiss Conquest, I have one with the Z1000 reticle and like it as well. Zeiss has a 1" tube instead of 30mm if that matters to you.
